Scener Top Five: what shows are people watching together?

The last few months have been explosive for Scener, as thousands of you are getting together each night to enjoy shows and movies in perfect sync while video chatting.

But we’ve been hearing from a lot of you that picking what to watch is the hardest part of getting your binge on. So we’re sharing February’s top five most-watched titles from the five major streaming services right here to help you pick what to watch next. You may be surprised by the results. It seems that what people like to watch socially on Scener is often different than what they watch alone.

Scener’s top most-watched titles on Netflix last month were:

  1. To All The Boys – Always And Forever
  2. Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel
  3. Bridgerton
  4. Space Sweepers
  5. Grey’s Anatomy

If you don’t live under a rock, you’ll probably know how much of a binge-worthy smash hit the ‘To All The Boys’ movies have been. But let us spell it out for you anyway… people watched the franchise’s third installment, ‘Always and Forever’ over than 5X more than anything else on Netflix last month.

‘Crime Scene,’ ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Space Sweepers’ may not be a surprise — but seeing ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in the top five is a big deal. With 369 episodes across 17 seasons, there’s plenty to binge. And we love to see a show set in Seattle make the cut (that’s where Scener was born).

Scener’s most watched on Hulu last month were:

  1. Attack on Titan
  2. The Bachelor
  3. How I Met Your Mother
  4. Survivor
  5. Love Island (UK)

Reality TV is always great to watch with friends, but seeing THREE reality titles make the cut last month on Hulu is a head-turner. The Scener team’s favorite is ‘Love Island (UK)’ — where else can you escape from the boredom of the pandemic AND pick up an accent?

HBO Max’s top titles last month on Scener were:

  1. Game of Thrones
  2. The Little Things
  3. My Neighbor Totoro
  4. South Park
  5. Princess Mononoke

We could go on and on about Westeros until Winter has finally come, and it’s no surprise to see probably the best show ever made (don’t @ us) still coming out on top. But instead let’s talk about anime. Anime is one of the favorite genres among Scener viewers – so much so that we’ve launched a dedicated profile for anime watch parties. Studio Ghibli’s work is one of the gems of the HBO Max family and it’s awesome to see two of their titles make the top five.

Disney Plus

Scener’s top titles on Disney Plus last month were:

  1. WandaVision
  2. Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger
  3. Marvel Studios’ The Avengers
  4. Marvel Studios’ Iron Man
  5. Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame

Absolutely MARVEL-ous. ALL FIVE of the most popular titles last month come from the MCU. Scener’s incredible community sure seems to love comic book content. The finale of ‘WandaVision’ dropped today and you can join in on some of the amazing public watch parties scheduled tonight, and watch along with other fans. Check out our home page for all the details.

Prime Video

The top titles watched by Scener users together on Prime Video last month were:

  1. Criminal Minds
  2. Crazy Rich Asians
  3. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle
  4. The Act
  5. The Maze Runner

Ding, ding, ding! We have another 5X-er. ‘Criminal Minds,’ the comforting-yet-bizarrely-creepy show (where somehow being a detective merits having a private jet) was watched five times more than anything else on Prime last month. And it’s easy to guess why – we struggle to watch just one episode, and it seems like you do too.

We hope this gives you some food for thought for your next content pick on Scener. We’re always looking to hear from you, so let us know what you love to watch by Tweeting us @scener.

Feeling inspired? Grab your friends and start watching one of the above titles now!

Long live movie night!
